To update the map database, visit Naviextras ' website to download the Naviextras Toolbox.", So it looks like this free update offer is only valid for the first 45 days after using.Ģ) I installed Naviextras Toolbox, and found out I still have a option for Q1 2014 map (North America) update. I suspect that part of the issue may have been updating my maps in the past from eBay.After the purchase about 10 months ago, I was checking back to see the map update option for my AVIC-6000NEX and found many confusing terms in the forum.ġ) On the Pioneer official website, it says " Customers who purchase Pioneer NEX products from authorized Pioneer dealers are eligible to update to the latest available map database free of charge during the first 45 days of operation (from the unit’s first receipt of an active GPS signal). Ultimately it came down to these licenses I had to remove: They had me delete log files but nothing worked. YES! Sorry for the late reply, but that was my issue as well. Once deleted, please launch the Toolbox and check whether it can pick up the USB stick. Okay, here you can see the license files. Here are the instructions Julia gave me and they WORKED this time for me. But it seems that there should be only ONE license file in the folder. I have no idea if your synctool /license files will be the same. The "extra" license files that were in my synctool/license folder are listed below. I successfully updated the Pioneer unit with the new map files today and it went well. Then I was able to see the available updates and download them to my USB drive ^) On restart of NaviToolbox it recognized my USB drive and let me log in. She had me delete three of them and restart NaviToolbox. Turns out there were FOUR licenses inside. Once she had the Ticket number that I got on an earlier email reply from Navi Support she had me open the License file folder within Synctool and send her the names of the licenses listed inside. So again I opened a Chat with Navi Support and got a very helpful person named Julia. As usual, it was not recognized by Navi Toolbox. I tried once again to get Navi Toolbox to "see" my prepared USB stick. I sent them two, one from a Win 7 computer and the other form Win 10. Last email they wanted me to send the log file (again) from toolbox. I even tried a micro SD card with a USB adapter that was 8GB. I know the drive needs to be at least 8GB, but for the hell of it I've tried 4GB, 16GB, and 32GB.

I have tried the same steps on three different computers, two running Windows 7, one Windows 10. I've uninstalled and reinstalled toolbox. When placing this drive into my computer, toolbox does not recognize it, but the computer does.

The synctool works just fine, I'll insert a blank USB drive that's been formatted to FAT32 into my unit and it successfully places a "synctool" folder on the drive. I've been exchanging emails with customer support but no success yet. I have updated them before 3 years ago, so I am familiar with the procedure, it's just not working this time. I am trying to update my maps and cannot get toolbox to recognize the drive.
